Department of Health Studies
Department Statement
The Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science Studies provides a curriculum for students who wish to gain an education in health science studies as a foundation for additional professional or graduate work in several health science professions, including medicine, dentistry, hospital administration, medical technology, and physical therapy. Employment with public health agencies or institutions is also an option. All students are encouraged to work closely with an advisor in the Department of Health Studies to ensure that the courses they take will meet degree requirements.

Recommended: A solid preparation in high-school biology, chemistry and mathematics or BIOL 100.

You are not required to take all of the courses listed above your first year; however, most students will choose to take between 24 and 32 credits. We highly recommend that you take Math, Biology, and English.
